I geared the pages a bit more towards an older child - not so much matching - but about learning skills and developing imagination.
This is the front page - not really fancy - I was just trying to finish it at this point. I tried a couple of appliqués on the front - but didn't really like how any of them looked.
It stays closed with a couple large snaps.
Page 1 & 2
I added a pocket & pencil holder for fun.
I loved this page. There is a little mouse that hides behind the base of the clock. The hands turn as a way to learn to tell time.
Page 3 & 4
This is my sandcastle page. You can unbutton the seashells and put them in the bucket & then build a sandcastle with the pieces that are stored in the bucket.
Page 5 & 6
Every book needs the "How to tie my shoelaces" page. I chose a ballet slipper because I always wanted to be a ballerina when I grew up!
This is the hair braiding page. I went with the Rapunzel theme (I'm terrible at making faces).
There are pockets in the grass for the hair accessories. The flowers are beads and I hand sewed the vines around the tower.
Page 7 & 8
My cupcake & oven page. I realized after I made them that my cupcake icing looked more like clouds. I decided that they were just really fluffy cupcakes!
Page 9 & 10
Treasure chest with it's "Booty".
The other side of the postcards have black & white pictures of their family on them. I added a bit of colour with embroidery floss details.
Page 11 & 12
These puppies are hiding and they need to be found!
Page 13 & 14
A fairy house. With the tiniest little girls I could find at the toy store.
I found this adorable camping fabric and NEEDED to make it into something. This book has the pictures - you just need to come up with the story.
Pages 15 & 16
Ice cream page. Pretty much self explanatory. I loved the candy (bead) jar. This was really frustrating because I was working with the clear vinyl. I finally figured out that if I put magic scotch tape on my sewing foot - it slides much better.
Page 17 & 18
The bath tub page. My husband said that EVERY good bath deserves a rubber ducky. The bathrobe is attached by a hook.
The last page is just an empty pocket that you can use if you need to gather the book up quickly and then re-sort at a latter time.
Anyway - I loved how it turned out. A bit bulky - but so much to do.
Most pages were inspired by looking at other quiet books and then coming up with my own patterns. The only pattern I used was from the sandcastle page taken from here: http://www.imagineourlife.com/2012/03/24/sandcastle-quiet-book-page/
~Cheers~

Oh my goodness!!!! This is beautiful. I actually teared up a bit looking at it. Thank you SO much Sarah! I know this represents hours and hours of tender loving auntie work. I LOVE it and know a little (almost) 5 year old who will too!
